IBPS PO exam is the bank exam conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection for the post of Probationary Officer or PO. There are different sections in this IBPS PO exam, out of which Quantitative Aptitude is one. This is also one of the most integral sections in the IBPS PO exam.

To clear the IBPS PO exam, it is important to study for all the included sections which can be done with proper preparation. You would need to focus on all of these sections, especially those which would prove to be a little tricky to solve. Quantitative aptitude is one such section which focuses on mathematical problems and would test the mathematical ability of the candidates.

The quantitative aptitude section involves questions based on mathematical problems like data interpretation, data sufficiency, problems on ages, etc. To solve such questions you would need to have a lot of practice and preparation. Especially for those who are not great with mathematical problems would need to focus more on preparing this section in a way which would help them clear it successfully.

1. Begin your Preparation with Number systems and series

The number systems form the basis of the quantitative aptitude questions so it is important to focus on the number systems while preparing for the quantitative aptitude section. After you are done with the number systems, you should focus on the number series and try to find ways and patterns with the help of which you can form a number series.

2. Prepare for interrelated topics together

There are a few topics like ratios and percentages which are interrelated. These are the topics which you can prepare together. Preparing these topics together would not only save your time but also help you to understand the basic concepts that form both these topics a little better.

3. Focus on data interpretation

In the quantitative aptitude section, you would face questions on data interpretation which carries the most weightage in this section. Hence, it is highly important to focus on the data interpretation while preparing for the quantitative aptitude section. The best way to do this is to practice as much as you can, mainly focusing on the basic types of data interpretation like tabular and graph based data interpretation.

4. Prepare a timetable and have a proper study plan

The key to successfully attempting any exam is to have a proper study plan scheduled which would make sure you get time to prepare all sections involved in the exam efficiently. When you are making your study plan, make sure to dedicate enough time to the quantitative aptitude section, so that you can focus on all the topics included.

5. Practice by solving mock tests and previous exam papers

When you are preparing for the quantitative aptitude section, having as much practice as you can is extremely important because almost all questions are based on mathematical problems and ratios, which sometimes makes it a time consuming section to solve. So, practising by solving mock tests would not only help you understand the pattern better but also help you to manage your time better.
