Educational Qualification 

A Master’s degree in the relevant subject and a minimum score of 55 percent in the examination are the minimum requirements for candidates applying for the Kerala PSC Assistant Professor. Those who have completed their post-graduate studies in the relevant field can apply for the position and register online. The minimum percentage required for candidates that fall into the SC/ST/OBC categories is different. For registering for the Assistant Professor position under the Kerala PSC, they must have a minimum of 50%.

Age Limit

The Kerala PSC specifies a minimum age of 22 years and a maximum age of 45 years for the Assistant Professor position. This can vary by category, and candidates who fall into the SC/ST and OBC categories are eligible for age relaxation. Interested candidates can consult the examination portal for eligibility requirements and instructions.

Other Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates fluent in Malayalam will be given preference for the Kerala PSC Assistant Professor position.
  • Candidates with a PhD degree are not required to submit a NET certificate when applying for the position.
  • The candidate must have passed the UGC’s comprehensive examination or any other similar examination administered by the Kerala government.
  • The candidates applying for the post of Pediatric Nephrology should have an MD or DNB in the relevant subject and 3 years of experience in teaching.
  • The applicant must present his or her DNB certification certificate or equivalent proof. This ensures your degree is from a recognised or an accepted university.
  • Candidates who completed the residency programme during their post-graduation time will have the opportunity to teach during their postgraduate study period.
  • Candidates must produce a certificate of eligibility if they have not completed the residency programme and the postgraduate course. Also, they gained work experience during their post-graduate course time, according to the college principal.

Kerala PSC Assistant Professor: Selection Process

Candidates interested in applying for the role can do so via the online portal. Candidates will apply and register for the position by filling out an application form. There will be an announcement of the rank list after the written exam. Later,  the candidates who have been chosen will continue to the interview. The interview will be the Kerala Public Service Commission’s final selection stage for the Assistant Professor position.

Once the portal is available, candidates interested in the upcoming Kerala PSC examination can upload their information and apply online. The government exams are currently on hold because of the Covid circumstances. Candidates can check the official website for more information. Currently, the KPSC does not include information about the notification, exam date, or the application deadline for the Assistant Professor position.
