Village Extension Officer: Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Job Profile, Salary

Kerala PSC has invited applications from the Village Extension Officer(VEO) positions for Matriculates. The recruitment process for the Village Extension Officer is a district-wise selection and the exam is scheduled for different slots. 

VEO Exam Pattern and syllabus will be similar to LGS recruitments. The questions will be of matriculation level and the language of the question is Malayalamam (except for the English section).

  • Facts about India, Geographical Peculiarities, Rivers and Riverside Projects, Minerals and Important Industries, Developments and Advancements in the field of Transportation and Telecommunication, Various States, Basic Facts about Union Territories.
  • Medieval India, Revolt of 1857, Indian Politics Associated with Independence, India after Independence, Indian Foreign Policy, etc.
  • Five Years plans of India, Banking, Insurance, Rural Development Programs of Central and State Governments, Social Development Projects, Features of Indian Constitution.
  • Indian Human Rights Law of 1993, Human Rights Commission, Right to Information Act, Central, and State Information Commissions, Laws which came into effect in the year 1989 and 1995 regarding the protection of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes. Citizen Rights Law 1955, Women Empowerment, Cyber Laws, etc.

Kerala PSC VEO Recruitment 2020 Salary 

There is a good pay rate and reward for a village extension officer. According to 2019 reports, the pay scale of a VEO is  Rs 20,000-Rs 45,800. 

Kerala PSC VEO Recruitment 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification 

 

  • The candidates should have passed the Class 10 exam 
  • The candidate who has passed SSLC examination with 40 percent or similar should apply. 

 

Age Limit

  • For the general category, the age limit for applying for the post is 19 to 36. As per PSC standards, age relaxation is for OBC and SC/ST candidates.

 

Kerala PSC VEO Recruitment 2020 Exam Dates

The tentative exam date for VEO Recruitment 2020 is yet to be announced by the Public Service Commission. 

Kerala PSC VEO Recruitment 2020 Admit Card

 

A few days before the exam date, the Kerala PSC VEO admission card will be released. It is necessary for candidates to download it from the official website and to print it out. The downloading process for the admission card is as follows: 

  • Go to the Thulasi website of the Kerala PSC and log in using your credentials. 
  • Click on the option ‘OMR/Descriptive Test’ shown on this page. 
  • Enter the details required, such as category code, bar code number, date of birth, etc., and click on “Continue” 
  • On the screen, your Kerala PSC VEO hall ticket will be displayed. You can download it. 
  • Take a print out and save the same hard copy. Without your hall ticket, you will not be allowed in the exam hall.

Kerala PSC VEO Recruitment 2020 Cutoffs 

Depending on the candidates’ aggregate results and performance, the Kerala PSC VEO cut off varies. With regard to district wise vacancies, it is also subject to scrutiny. The approximate cut-offs for different districts for the 2019 examinations ranged from 57 [Wayanad, lowest] to 72 [Thiruvananthapuram, highest].
