UPSC Online Application Form 2021 – UPSC Online Registration Guidelines

The online application for the UPSC exam 2021 form will soon be released. The registration page ‘apply online’ will then open.
 
The Civil Service Exam, conducted by the UPSC, recruits staff into India’s prestigious civil services. Candidates who pass this examination will enter services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS officers, etc. The three-stage evaluation is done on an annual basis, and that starts with the UPSC Prelims.
 
The IAS Prelims is scheduled to be held on 27th January 2021. IAS Mains will take place from 17th September 2021 onwards. If you want to take an IAS examination, you must apply for the same examination online only via UPSC’s official website. Also, you will have to pay the fees (unless you are exempted). You will get all the important details on this post, such as applying for the IAS prelims exam, form filling instructions, the fees, important dates of the UPSC exam, and other related stuff.

UPSC Apply Online

Here are the dates of the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021. 
 

  • Stage I: UPSC Prelims – 27th June 2021 (Sunday)
  • Stage II: UPSC Mains – 17th September 2021 onwards
  • Stage III: Interview – December 2021 (Tentatively)

 
The official UPSC notification 2021 was supposed to be released by 10th February 2021. But it has been delayed. 

Applying Online for the IAS exam 2021

Here are the steps that candidates should follow for applying online for the UPSC civil services exam 2021. 
 

  1. Visit the official website of the UPSC
  2. Click on ‘Apply Online’. Then, you will be directed to a page where you will get a link to apply ‘Online Application For Various Examinations’. Click on that link. 
  3. You can also directly go to upsconline.nic.in
  4. And, click on ‘Part-I Registration’
  5. Now you can fill the form. But, go through the important instructions before filling the application form thoroughly. 

 
Here are the important guidelines to be followed while filling the UPSC online application form 2021:
 

  1. Online forms can only be submitted on the official website of the UPSC.
  2. It is mandatory to fill fields marked with an asterisk (*) in the UPSC CSE Online Application
  3. If the candidate clicks the submit button and his/her submission is successfully completed, no modifications are subsequently permitted.
  4. If candidates wish to make any changes, they can apply for a new application with updated details by the last application date. Only the registration-id for the most recent fully submitted application will be accepted for processing, and all prior applications submitted will be cancelled.
  5. The UPSC CSE Online Application Form consists of 2 parts, i.e. Part-I and Part-II Registration. All parts must be completed and submitted. And, only then can the application be valid.
  6. Candidates must fill out their personal information, educational qualifications and address in the Part-I Registration.
  7. Candidates must provide payment details in Part-II Registration, select the examination centre, upload a photograph, signature, photo identity card document and declaration.
  8. Candidates are required to upload a scanned copy of their picture and signature. Each file’s digital size should not exceed 300 KB each and should not be less than 20 KB. The resolution should be 350 pixels (Width) X 350 pixels (Height) minimum, 1000 pixels (Width) X 1000 pixels (Height) maximum, and the Bit Depth of the image file should be 24 bit. 
  9. Candidates should include their correct e-mail addresses as, if necessary, the commission can communicate through e-mails.
  10. Candidates should remember that no changes, such as the Examination centre, Optional Subjects, Medium of Examination, Compulsory Indian Language for Civil Services (Main) Examination, would be allowed once the form is submitted.
  11. Candidates can also upload a photo id card in PDF format only. The PDF file’s digital size should not be greater than 300 KB and no less than 20 KB.
  12. Candidates must provide a photo identity card number and upload a copy of the photo identity card to the Online Application Form and remember to bring it to the venue at the time of examination.

 
Candidates applying for UPSC 2021 would have to pay Rs 100 as an application fee, while candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PH categories and qualified candidates are excluded from paying the application fee. Candidates can use the online or offline mode to pay the application fee.
 
Offline Mode: At any branch of the State Bank of India, candidates can pay the application fee in cash. Candidates should take a print out of the challan generated system during the Part II registration process while paying the application fee through offline mode and deposit the challan (pay-in-slip) at an SBI branch on the next working day only.
 
‘Pay by cash’ mode will be deactivated one day before the closing date; however, candidates who have produced their pay-in-slip before it is deactivated will be able to pay at the SBI branch on the closing date during banking hours.
 
Online Mode: Candidates who want to pay the application fee via online mode – can pay via State Bank of India’s net banking or Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.

Note: UPSC suggests that candidates should use Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9 and above to fill out the form.
