National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET 2022 Notification for June and 2021 December for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The notification was released on 30th April 2022. 

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have a Master’s graduation or equivalent from UGC- recognised Universities or Institutions in Humanities including languages and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications and Electronic Science, and those appearing in the final semester of the master’s degree can also apply.

The candidates must have scored 55% marks and 50% for reserved category students. There is also a 5% in aggregate marks relaxation for the candidates with Ph.D.

Age Limit

The age limit of the Junior Research Fellowship(JRF) is not more than 31 years. There will be an age relaxation of 5 years is provided in the upper age limit for OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories.

There will be also a relaxation of three years of relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with an L.L.M. degree. And the relaxation of up to 5 years will be given to the candidates who have served in the armed forces.

But for Assistant Professor, there is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.

Exam Pattern

There will be two papers for the UGC-NET Online Test. These papers consist of   objective-type and multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between the two papers. The candidate will get 2 marks for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
