The SSC MTS staff is non-ministerial and falls under the general central government service. The current in hand salary of the Multitasking staff salary is eighteen to twenty two thousand, which is revised after the 7th pay commission.

The salaries of all government employees are affected by the application of 7th pay commission and the SSC MTS is no exception. The salaries are increased by about 20% which is highly beneficial for the employees.

SSC MTS salary after 7th pay commission

The basic salary for the SSC MTS is 18,000 to 22,000 and there are a lot of factors that affect this salary including location of your job, the allowances which are added to your salary, taxes, etc. the in hand salary mostly differs by the location at which you are working as it is different for different states.

The cities in which the SSC MTS work are divided into three tiers— X-Tier I, Y-Tier II and Z-Tier III. The basic pay and allowances differ based on these tiers. The approximate in hand salary for the SSC MTS working in the X-Tier I cities is about 20,000 to 21,000 rupees, that of those working in the Y-Tier II cities is about 18,000 to 20,000 rupees and that of the SSC MTS working in the Z-Tier III cities is about 16,000 to 18,000 rupees.

The above number of the approximate in hand salaries of the SSC MTS in all the X-Tier I, Y-Tier II and Z-Tier III cities is after the 7th pay commission, meaning that this number was lesser before the application of the 7th pay commission.

Apart from the in hand salary, the SSC MTS also enjoy a number of benefits in form of allowances. These benefits are as follows:
The SSC MTS enjoy a number of benefits like the different allowances which are offered to them in addition to the basic salary. These allowances include house rent allowance, travelling allowance and dearness allowance.
These employees also get pension benefits as there is a pension system for the SSC MTS. They can secure their post retirement life by the National Payment System or NPS.
There are also a number of medical and health benefits that are enjoyed by the SSC MTS in the form of the Central Government Health Scheme or CGHS and the Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme or CGEGIS.

All these benefits and allowances are added to the basic salary of the SSC MTS, which is revised after the 7th pay commission. This has led to a 20% increase in the salaries of not only the SSC MTS but of almost all employees working in the government sector. This has benefited the existing SSC MTS and also attracted many new aspiring candidates who will be appearing for the SSC MTS examinations in the future.
