The National Level Combined High Secondary Level (10+ 2)’ exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The SSC CHSL exam is held to recruit qualified candidates for various positions in the Indian Administrative Systems, including Postal Assistant, Lower Divisional Clerks, Court Clerk, Sorting Assistants, Data Entry Operators, and so on.

SSC CHSL Vacancy

The CHSL vacancies for the 2020-21 cycle have been released by the SSC. The SSC CHSL Vacancies (tentative) have been released by the commission. A total of 4,726 vacancies are to be filled, according to the notification. There are 3181 vacancies for Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA), 1,538 vacancies for Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and 7 vacancies for Data Entry Operator (DEO) vacancies in the SSC CHSL.

SSC CHSL Exam 2021 Apply Online


Candidates can follow these steps to apply online: 

 

Step 1: To apply online for SSC CHSL Recruitment, go to the Staff Service Commission’s official website (www.ssc.nic.in) and click on the link provided below.

 

Step 2: The applicants must first register by providing the requested information.

 

Step 3: Complete the form and log in with your Roll No/Registration ID and Password. 

 

Step 4: Login and fill out your personal information, including your name, address, and educational qualifications.

 

Step 5: Upload a picture of yourself and your signature.

 

Step 6: Make an online payment for the application fee.

 

Step 7:Finally, submit your submission.

 

Step 8: Print a copy of the application form for future reference.

SSC CHSL Application Fee

  • Male candidates in General Category are required to pay an application fee of Rs 100.  
  • Candidates of EWS, EBC/BC, SC/ST are exempt from paying application fees. 
  • Female candidates belonging to any category are exempted from paying the SSC CHSL application fee. 
  • Candidates must pay using Net Banking, a debit card, or a credit card.
  • The total payment amount will include the required application fee and bank transactional fees that will be displayed on the payment page.
  • Once the application fee/exam fee has been charged, there will be no refund.

SSC CHSL Exam 2021 Eligibility Criteria 

Nationality criteria for SSC CHSL 

In the official notification, the SSC CHSL Nationality requirements for the various recruitment posts are specified. Candidates must be Indian citizens. In the notification, there is more information about the sub-categories that come under nationality.

 

Candidates must meet at least one of the following nationality requirements:

 

  • An Indian national
  • Nepalese subject
  • Bhutanese matter
  • A Tibetan refugee is a person who migrates to India from Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Burma, Sri Lanka, Malawi, the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Vietnam, and Ethiopia

 

Candidates that fall into one of the above categories must have valid credential for verification. Failure to do so would result in the candidate’s disqualification.

Age Limit criteria for SSC CHSL

For various posts of SSC CHSL, the age limit is between 18 and 27 years (As of 1st Jan 2021). Furthermore, candidates must have been born between the dates of 2nd Jan 1994 and 1st Jan 2003. There are, however, a few age exceptions for different categories, which are mentioned below.

Educational Qualification for SSC CHSL Exam 2021

Here’s the detailed educational qualification for the post of SSC CHSL Recruitment in 2020-21.

SSC CHSL Selection Process 

Candidates are selected based on three stages under the SSC CHSL Selection Process:

 

  • Computer-based Written Examination (Tier -I)
  • Descriptive Paper (Tier-II)
  • Typing Test/Skill Test (Tier-III) Examination for the post of DEO, PA/SA, LDC and Court Clerk

  • Tier I will be a computer-based test.
  • The duration is 60 minutes in total.
  • Each question is worth two points.
  • 0.50 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier II 

  • Tier II will consist of a descriptive paper of 100 marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode.’ The paper will be for one hour in length.
  • This paper aims to evaluate your writing skills.
  • The exam will consist of a 150-200 word application letter and a 200-250 word essay.
  • To qualify, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 33%. 
  • Candidates should also be aware that the Tier-2 Exam will be used to determine merit during the assessment process.
  • Candidates have the choice of writing the paper in either English or Hindi.
  • Candidates are not permitted to mix the languages while writing. If they want to write in Hindi, the whole paper must be written in Hindi, and vice versa in English.
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier III

  • Tier III of the SSC CHSL will be a skill/typing test that will be qualifying in nature. The total score obtained by the successful candidates in Tiers I and II will be used to decide their final merit.
  • There is a 15-minute typing test included. Candidates must write at a rate of 35 words per minute in English and 30 words per minute in Hindi.
  • Candidates who are visually handicapped (40 per cent disabled) will be given an additional 30 minutes to complete the exam.

SSC CHSL Syllabus

SSC CHSL Syllabus for Tier I

Tier I of the SSC CHSL will be a computer-based exam conducted online. Candidates have 60 minutes to complete the SSC CHSL Tier I paper, which contains 100 questions. Each question is worth two marks. As a result, the total marks are 200.

SSC CHSL Syllabus for Tier II

Ecological Issues, Social Issues, Politics, Schemes, and Governance, Finance, Technology, Sports, National Interest, Geopolitics, Environmental Concerns, and other topics will be covered in the exam. The required minimum score is 33 per cent. Candidates should be aware that their exam results will be taken into account for their overall merit. The document must be written entirely in Hindi or English. The following topics are covered in the Tier-II exam – Essay writing & Letter or application writing.

Candidates need to qualify at this stage as this is qualifying in nature.

Step 1: Go to http://www.ssc.nic.in, which is the official website.

 

Step 2: In the Candidate Information column, go to the Results Section. 

 

Step 3: Go to the link and click it. The page with the results will appear.

 

Step 4: On the login tab, enter your roll number and date of birth.

 

Step 5: Select the “Submit” option.

 

Step 6:The SSC CHSL Result will appear on the screen.

 

Step 7: Save a copy of your result as a PDF file.
