The State Bank of India is one of the oldest and the most trusted banks in the Indian financial and banking system. This renowned bank offers lucrative job opportunities on a periodic basis with a number of perks and benefits. But to get posted in SBI, the SBI Probationary Officer exam has to be taken.
SBI PO Exam Basic Details
- The preliminary exam is for a period of 60 minutes and the mains exam is for three and a half hours. These exams test the speed and accuracy of the candidates and the same can be developed by solving past year’s papers with care.
- The preliminary exam pattern would include three main sections of English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning ability for a total of 100 marks.
- The mains exam, on the other hand will have 5 sections namely, reasoning and computer aptitude, generally economy and awareness, English language and data interpretation along with letter writing & essay section. There is a specific time period allocated for each part and the paper on the whole is for 200 marks. This phase of the exam has both objective and descriptive tests.
- There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each wrong answer given by the candidate, 1/4th of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
