Kerala PSC AE Notification — Kerala Public Service Commission has issued the notification announcing 1 vacancy for the position of Assistant Engineer on 16th June, 2021. They have also said that they will be closing interested applications on 21st July, 2021. Earlier, the Commission issued a notification for 83 vacancies, open from 30th April, 2021 to 2nd June, 2021.

Kerala PSC Commission invited qualified applicants to apply for the post of Assistant Engineer in Civil services, specifically the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). 

The selected candidates for whichever departments required will stay in force for a period of one year. That is, until a new list is published when newer vacancies may open up again and new engineers are selected, or until the list expires and does not stay valid in the next three years, whichever is earlier.

The PSC of Kerala opened slots for interested and eligible applicants to apply for the post of Assistant Engineers across a variety of subsectors in the scope of engineering. For KSEB, applicants were required to login to Thulasi, the online portal for submitting the application. The site led to the page where applications could be filled, along with necessary details and documents to keep close when the Statewide Direct Recruitment opened. That led to choosing the desired exam center, after which the selections will be through.

The Commission has not charged in the past, nor has it charged applicants now. There is no application fee that the KPSC charges the applicant to pay. 

KPSC Assistant Engineer (Civil) Notification Selection Process 2021

Selection of suitable engineers for the post will be carried out through a written/online/OMR test, whichever will be possible on the given date. 

Applicants undergo the selection process under two different categories: Direct recruitment (for category 1) and Departmental Recruitment (for category 2). The requirements and qualifications to be met for both these categories are different, thereby changing the eligibility criteria as well.

The written examination is compulsory for KPSC Assistant Engineer (Civil). The exam is 1 hour and 30 minutes long for a total of 100 marks. There is a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer. 

It is only after passing the written screening via scoring above the specified cut-off mark that the applicants be called for the interview process. The required documentation process will be fulfilled along with the interview.

  • Original 10th, 10+2th marksheet and certificates 
  • Original Certificates/Diploma of Education Qualifications of the applicant 
  • 2 passport sized photographs of the applicant

  • Valid ID proof: Aadhar, PAN Card etc. and Domicile Certificate 

Category 2 applicants must bring their service certificate to show the time span of service served prior.

Age Limit 

Anyone aged between 21 and 40 are eligible to apply, 21 being the general assumed age for completing any Bachelor’s degree. Candidates born between January 2nd, 1981 and January 1st, 2002 (inclusive of these two dates) are welcome to apply. 

The applicant will have a declaration signed assuring four years of service (including the training years) in the job and agreeing to assignments across India (if required) and in defense services (if required).
