Kerala Administrative Services Examination is conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission. This exam is a good opportunity for the aspirants who are looking for a high post in Government jobs. This article discusses about the KAS exam in detail.

The appointment is made to three streams. They are Stream I, Stream II and Stream III. Separate Ranked List will be prepared for all the three streams.

Appointment to the Stream I is through the Direct Recruitment. Direct Recruitment is also applicable to both Stream I and Stream II. But in Stream I, the only candidate among the full members or approved probationers in any Government Departments. Those candidates holding the 1st Gazetted post or above in Departments in the schedule-1 can apply for Stream III.

Eligible candidates can apply in more than one category. In such cases candidates should submit separate applications.

The officers applying in Stream-2 have to submit a certificate from the Controlling Officer, stating that such officer is not holding the 1^st Gazetted post or above in the Department in Schedule-1, in a given format.

Also, the candidate applying in STREAM-3 should obtain a certificate from the Controlling Officer, stating that he/she is holding a 1^st Gazetted post or above in the Department mentioned in Schedule-1 and equivalent post in Common Categories listed in Schedule-1.

Educational Qualification

Eligible candidates should have a Bachelor Degree including a professional course in any subject at a University. The University must be recognized by a University established by Government of Kerala or UGC or awarded by National Institutes established by the Government of India.
