How to Prepare for SSC CPO examination?

The State Selection Commission or SSC conducts various SSC exams every year, one of which is the SSC CPO or Staff Selection Commission-Central Police Organisation. Through this exam, aspirant candidates are recruited into the Central Police Organisation every year.

The number of candidates aspiring to work in the central police force is increasing every year which has increased the number of candidates appearing for the exam. As more and more candidates are appearing, the difficulty level has also risen. The SSC CPO examination opens doors for various jobs in the central police department like sub inspectors, Central Armed Police Forces or CAPF, Assistant Sub inspector in CISF, etc. But to acquire any of these positions, it is first necessary to clear the SSC CPO exam.

The first step to successfully clear any exam is to start preparing for it at the earliest and to plan your preparation in a way which will leave you with maximum knowledge and confidence to clear the exam. Tips to prepare for SSC CPO Exam

While you are planning to do that, having a few tips and tricks to help you in your goal would definitely be an added advantage. So, let’s see some of those tips which will come in handy while preparing for the SSC CPO examination.

1. Keep the entire syllabus with you while you plan your study timetable

The important step in your preparation is to be thoroughly familiar with the entire syllabus of the examination because without that you cannot plan your study. So, before you start planning your study timetable, make sure to have the entire syllabus with you and then set the timetable accordingly.

2. Do not overload yourself

When you are preparing your timetable, make sure to keep it comfortable and achievable. Do not put too much pressure on yourself by deciding to complete a large number of topics in a single day. Make sure your timetable is such that you have enough time to concentrate on each topic.

3. Focus on section wise preparation

The SSC CPO examination has four sections— general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and English language. Each of these sections carry different weightage of marks and hence it is important to study for all these sections while preparing for the SSC CPO examination. For doing so, you need to make sure that you plan your timetable in a way that you can cover each of these sections and give them equal attention. It is advisable to complete one section at a time so as to avoid confusion and jumbling between sections.

4. Have the right study material

Knowing what books to refer to is highly important while preparing for competitive exams like the SSC CPO exam. Sometimes students who get everything right in the preparation and study well also experience failure in these exams because of referring to the wrong or outdated books. It is often advised to go for government recommended books when preparing for such exams.

Clearing this exam may seem to be hard as the competition level has increased and it has been found that only a few candidates out of the many that appear, are successful in clearing the SSC CPO exam. But as hard as it may seem, you can still achieve it if you are determined and willing to put in the effort.
