Delhi Police Recruitment 2022: 835 Head Constables

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has invited applications from the interested and eligible candidates for the post of Head Constable (Ministerial) in the Delhi Police. The candidates can apply through the official website of the Staff Selection Commission-, or through the Delhi Police Department’s website,


As per the official notification, there are 835 vacancies. Of which559 are reserved for male candidates and 276 are for female candidates. 

Important Dates

The last date for the application to these posts is June 16, 2022. The computer-based exam will take place in September 2022. 

Selection Procedures

The selection process includes the following stages:

  • Written Exam (CBT Mode)- 100 Marks
  • Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT)- Qualifying
  • Typing Test (English- 30 wpm or Hindi- 25 wpm)- 25 Marks
  • Computer (Formatting) Test- Qualifying
  • Document Verification

The computer-based exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English. The number of candidates, equal to 20 times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT). PE and MT will be conducted by the Delhi Police. 


The salary of the Delhi Police Head Constables will be at Pay Level 4 ie, about Rs 25500-81100.

Age limit

As per the official notification, the age of the candidates must be between 18 and 25 as on January 1, 2022. 

Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification for the candidates to apply for the above-mentioned post is Intermediate level/12th Pass Examination from a recognized board.

Professional Requirement

The candidates should have an English Typing Speed of 30 words per minute and the Hindi Typing Speed is 25 words per minute as a professional Requirement.
